The below is non-negotiable, not meaning to be stubborn but we get a lot of enquiries and in the interest in being fair and transparent these are the terms- if you like them, then we can work together, if you don’t, then please do not get in touch!
First and foremost; Goat is not trying to con you, we are trying to change the landscape of how ideas get made by cutting YOU in on the deal. We want to redistribute the traditional IP model so that the creatives and the owners of the format make some money and make good telly too.
The below is our end of the bargain, what we need from you is that this is an original format idea, access to talent, ideas that would make a great show that will ‘Bring Joy’ to our audiences and the that this is not been developed with another company and that you are free to enter into this agreement with us, there is no conflict of interest and that the idea is to the best of your knowledge original.
International Sales:
25% of Net Revenue.
This is the money received after, distribution costs, expenses to deliver the show to distributors (usually post production time to remove commercial tracks or create international paperwork)
It also comes after any broadcaster percentage, as they pay for the show, they get first cut. Timings wise this will come after we deliver the show to the distributor at the end of the project. If there is an overspend or deficit funding then we will discuss this with you throughout the project to let you know.
25% of the
Production Fee
The production fee is usually 10% of the entire budget. The production fee is usually the only area that we at Goat can call profit. This means that we are handing over 25% of this to you. There are some areas that the channel has below the line of the budget: Presenter Fees, Albert Offsetting, Cost of Money, Covid Costs, or Contingency costs (if there are any for the project) These are all ringfenced usually to be at cost which means that we cannot
apply the 10% production fee for these costs. Timings wise this will come after we deliver the show to the Channel including the production paperwork at the end of the project. If there is an overspend or deficit funding then we will discuss this with you throughout the project to let you know.
Credits and work on the show
We understand that this show will be precious to you, depending on the experience that you have, there could be a role on the show for you when it gets to commission. As ever all the requests for roles will need channel approval, we will request that there is a “Created by” credit for you, and that will be the minimum. It will not always be in our gift to give credits for the episodes on the Telly, but we at Goat will promote you as the show’s creator and promote this off air as well. Any services that you do on the show, presenting, producing etc will have its own fee and be separately contracted.
